If you are trying out for any Sport you must have:
40-yard sprint – Each athlete will timed when sprinting for 40 yards. They will complete this 3-5 times. Their times will be averaged and they will be given a rating from 1-5
30-yard slalom – two rows of four cones will be set up. Each row will be 10 yard apart and each cone in each row will be 10 yards apart. Each athlete will start at the first cone in the first row. They will sprint to the second cone in the second row. From that cone they will sprint to the third cone in the first row. From that cone they will sprint to the fourth cone in the second row. From that cone they will sprint to the fourth cone in the first row, then the third cone in the second row, then the second cone in the first row, and finally the first cone in the second row. They will complete the 30-yard slalom 3-5 times. They will be timed each time, their times will be averaged, and they will be given a score from 1-5.
20m Shuffle – A starting gate and an end gate will be set up 20 meters apart with a recovery area cone set up 5 meters. They will start out by being given 14.5 seconds to run from the start gate to the end gate. They will be prompted to begin by a beep. When they hear a second beep, they will run from the end gate to the starting gate. Upon reaching the starting gate, they will be given time to lightly jog around in the recovery area. They will hear another beep to indicate that they must return to a stationary position at the starting gate. They will repeat this process with the time limit decreasing each time. They will continue this process until they have two unsuccessful attempts. They will be given a warning on their first failed attempt. The number of successful attempts will be recorded and each athlete will be given a score from 1-5.
